Hello. My name is Jordan I am 19 years old and I am a Siemens System Controls apprentice working for Applied Integration.

I am currently undertaking a Siemens apprenticeship which i started in August 2013 and have just recently started the second year of the apprenticeship. During the first year of the apprenticeship i studied at Hartlepool college where i completed my Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) Level 2 in Engineering (Mon-Wed) as well as completing the first year of my HNC in Instrumentation and control part time on a Friday. I have just recently been nominated for apprentice of the year 2014 at Hartlepool college with the awards evening being on the 2nd October.

I had already gained my BTEC level 3 in Engineering at Macmillan Academy sixth form achieving (D*DD).

During the first year of the apprenticeship i was at the office every Thursday because I had already gained my Level 3 BTEC in Engineering. Now that i have finished my first year of college i will be at the office 4 days a week, one day a week i will be back at Hartlepool college studying my second year of the HNC part time. Throughout my time at work i have helped and undertaken projects with fellow engineers. (E.g Talisman.) Talisman was a project i had worked on with a fellow engineer for roughly 4-5months. During this time i gained a lot of knowledge such as creating screens and tags to monitor and display system voltage current and frequency, monitor & Display switchgear circuit breaker/contactor status (open / closed / tripped / unavailable /earthed) using the SCADA program (Movicon) and Modbus TCP.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

    Jordan Wales
