Posted on November 26, 2015

After celebrating 10 years in business – Applied Integration UK are proud to be opening their first research and development facility at Stockton’s new multimillion pound business and innovation centre – Fusion Hive.

With the advancements in modern day technology – research and development is becoming more and more important for companies aiming to stay ahead of the game. Firms need to become leaner, smarter and more efficient than their competitors and the establishment of a specialist research and development branch is a fantastic way in order to remain one step ahead in the ever changing landscapes of today’s global markets.

Our mission statement here at Applied Integration has always been ‘to push the boundaries of technology with innovative and inspiring solutions’ and our new facility at Fusion Hive is the embodiment of this ambition. It will house a number of Applied Integration’s most exciting R&D projects – projects to develop new systems, increase the efficiency of current processes and to reduce costs and development times.

Operated by ‘The Forge’- Teesside University’s business hub- Fusion Hive is a three storey, 36,000 sq. ft. business centre based at Northshore in Stockton, offering state-of-the-art facilities for up to 60 ambitious technology companies. Officially opened on the 2nd October by Northern Powerhouse Minister James Wharton MP – Fusion Hive will act as a beacon of growth and innovation for businesses in the North East.

Heralded as a ‘magnet for enterprise’, Stockton’s Northshore forms part of a massive redevelopment scheme on the banks of the river Tees. The 56 acre, £300 million scheme is the result of a partnership between Muse Developments, the Homes and Communities Agency and Stockton Council which will ultimately provide 500,000 sq. ft. of offices and up to 85,000 sq. ft. of retail outlets, hotels and family housing. Leader of Stockton council, Bob Cook, is hoping the new facility makes a ‘valuable contribution’ to the local economy and creates many new jobs. “Stockton is fast developing its reputation as an incubator for new, exciting and growing digital, scientific and technology businesses and facilities like this will do much to help these sectors continue to flourish”

Carrying the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for enterprise & business engagement and holding the Customer First quality standard – Teesside University is excellently placed to provide a massive competitive advantage to the tenants of Fusion Hive. Paul Croney, Vice-Chancellor of the University stated that “Teesside University has a fantastic track record for collaborating with business and Fusion Hive will increase the range of services we can offer to companies in the Tees Valley.”

With close ties to Teesside University and an environment in which to thrive – Applied Integration’s new research & development facility is expected to be a huge success and a driver for growth and development for years to come. With an ever important need for innovation, the facility lays the foundations for the pioneering work being carried out here at Applied Integration. It will provide a stimulus for the firm to become more and more efficient, whilst enabling our rise to the very top in the field of industrial automation.
