Hats & scarves at the ready for Applied Integration!

Posted on October 21, 2015

As the nights get steadily darker and the weather slowly gets colder – ask yourselves how you will stay warm and cosy this winter? You might turn the heating on, enjoy a hearty, warming meal or perhaps even cuddle up on the sofa with a loved one? Then at the end of the day – you can look forward to a peaceful nights’ sleep in the comfort of your own bed. Sounds good doesn’t it?

However for some of the less fortunate of us on Teesside this year, this is a stark contrast to how the winter months may turn out. Constant exposure to the elements and an everyday struggle for food is the harsh reality faced by the homeless individuals living across the local area this winter.

On Friday the 13th of November – a team of hardy staff from Applied Integration will be ‘sleeping rough’ for the night – in order to raise awareness and generate much needed funds to help tackle homelessness across the Teesside region. The ‘Big Tees Sleepout’ has been organised by the Middlesbrough & Teesside philanthropic foundation and will see hundreds of individuals spending the night sleeping rough outside the gates of Middlesbrough College. All proceeds will go to a truly amazing cause and will help improve the lives of many people sleeping on the streets of Teesside this winter.

The Teesside charity already does a fantastic job in making our area a better place to both work and live – and this is one of the many exciting projects that they help to fund.
