Our very own Lee Raywood to run the Great North Run for charity!

Posted on June 23, 2015

34 years ago Olympic 10,000 metre Bronze medallist Brendan Foster teamed up with North East running enthusiast William Rowe to organise a half marathon known today as the Great North Run. Over 30 years later it has become the world’s second largest half marathon as well as one of UK’s premier running events. From professional Olympic athletes, to fun runners, to people in fancy dress, the Great North Run attracts a whole host of different participants from all walks of life.

The diverse nature of the event makes the Great North Run an excellent way to raise money for charity and we are delighted to announce that our very own Managing Director – Lee Raywood – will be running in this year’s event in order to raise money for the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.

Founded in 2011, the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation is a charitable activist group aiming to raise money from businesses and more fortunate individuals in order to make Teesside a better place in which to live, work and to do business.

The foundation has greatly improved the lives of many on Teesside with a range of projects such as the Teesside hardship fund, the CEO sleepout as well as the Middlesbrough homeless and powerchair football clubs.

To learn more about the amazing work that the foundation do, please head over to their website – – and get involved with an array of great events all in the name of an truly excellent cause. If you would like to sponsor Lee, please go to and donate as much as you are willing!

We wish anyone running in the Great North Run the very best of luck and all support of Lee will be very much appreciated!
