System Overview

The system is designed on Citect SCADA (with WEB Manager) for visualisation and using Wago 750-841 Intelligent Controllers.

The system network has been designed using a redundant fiber network with Cat5 connections to 22 Wago units on local drops. As indicated on the Network System mimic.

The 1110 I/O has been split into the following areas:

  • 12 Monitored breakers - providing open, closed, tripped, voltage, current and power readings)
  • Lots Standard breakers - Monitoring aux connections for open / closed status.
  • 9 Static Transfer Switches - Monitoring voltage, current, power readings, transfer status and system alarms.
  • 20 CCU's Change Over Units - Monitoring the current supply in use and the heath status of both incoming supplys.
  • 3 UPS / Diesel Generators - Monitoring the system status and power readings.

System Philosophy

The SCADA system selected for this application is Citect SCADA with the WEB Manager allowing remote access to the system across the banks wide area network. The system provides breaker status, static changeover switch and UPS/Generator monitoring. The system mimics have been based on the wiring drawings for the site, making it intuitive for the on-site electrical engineering team to follow.

System alarms have been configured to draw the user's attention to any loss in power supply or change in key breaker / change over status. These alarms are also processed within a Wago Controller independently of the SCADA, which collects data from all the other Wago units in the system and groups the alarms into alarm areas that are in turn passes by Modbus into a PRIVA Building Management System.
