System Migration and Virtualisation

With fast paced digitalisation and evolving solutions, System Migration is, or at some point will be, a very important topic to every manufacturing facility.  Applied Integration has an extensive amount of experience in migrating many hardware and software platforms and can assist customers in this process.

We have in-house expertise to reverse engineer the required information from existing legacy configurations, graphics, operator knowledge or old documentation.  Based on this information, we can make specific recommendations on a migration path.

Technology is a must in modern business. To digitally change business models, concepts, and operations, companies are constantly looking for innovative technologies, better management systems, intelligence, and acceleration of services with automation.

Applied Integration can design, build and test an effective platform, critical for today’s digital technologies.  API development (Rest or Soap) providing a direct network connection between the ERP and the SCADA/MES for real-time, bi-directional information exchange.

  • A stored procedure or “view”, which is installed in the ERP database for the SCADA/MES application to read and/or modify a specified subset of data from the ERP system.

  • Shared Database Tables, establishing a common communication point between ERP and the SCADA/MES system to exchange information.

  • Or a more traditional approach, exporting CSV files (flat files) where the ERP writes a .csv file to a common location. The SCADA/MES software regularly looks for new files containing needed information. This can work both ways.

Dynamic change to meet demand from shop floor to corporate management. Improved data helps companies stay competitive in domestic and international markets. MIS, MES and ERP are some of the common notations used at the enterprise management software level. Applied Integration understand the similarities and differences between MIS, MES and ERP and can help attain integration from ‘shop floor to top floor’.
